When I look back at my personal history, I can think of a few songs/bands/albums that helped shape the way I heard music. Soundgarden was one of those bands. I remember the first time I saw the video for their hit song "Black Hole Sun" and running to my local record store to pick up Superunknown.
Actually, the only full episode of SNL I've ever watched was one featuring Soundgarden as the musical guest with Jim Carrey as the guest host.
That's why it breaks my heart to see that former Soundgarden frontman, Chris Cornell, died. He was 52 years old.
A representative said his death was "sudden and unexpected." The statement also said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.
