Sick Illinois Students Can Now Take Medical Marijuana To School

Thanks to a new law, sick Illinois students can now take medical marijuana to school.

This is called The Ashley Law and thanks to 12-year-old Ashley Surin, Illinois public schools are now required to allow parents a caregiver or sometimes a nurse to administer medical marijuana to qualifying students that attend their school.  The medicine can come in a patch, a pump or an edible.

Ashlley was 2 years old when she was diagnose with Luekemia. A series of treatments have left her cancer free, but now she suffers from debilitating seizures.. which requires the use of medical marijuana to allow her to have a 'normal' day.

Meet Ashley in the video below.
