Growing up, Jurassic Park was THAT movie. For being in the 90's, those animatronics were some of the BEST IN THE WORLD. I remember being absolutely scared sh*tless as a kid when we first saw that T-Rex eat the dumb guy who ran to the toilets when everyone in the Jeeps said said not to exit the vehicle...
I mean what a sequence...absolutely no music, just heavy breathing and the terrifying sounds of a prehistoric predator having his way with robot SUV.
The sequels to Jurassic Park, I'll admit, were a little less than stellar BUT still solid films! If we're being honest, I prefer the third installment over the second (sorry Jeff Goldblum) but mainly because I think raptors were the most badass dinosaurs in the game.
Which brings me to why I adored Jurassic WORLD so much. First off, Chris Pratt. Dude is a superstar who gave me hope that I can someday turn my fat Andy Dwyer looking body into a physique worthy of my own slow motion closeup in a Marvel movie (if you know, you know), but also because he plays a raptor trainer! ARE YOU KIDDING?! On paper that sounds like the dumbest sh*t ever, but then you watch the movie and realize just how awesome that job title actually is. The writers and creators took the Jurassic Park idea and brought it full on into today's world of technology and our obsession with theme parks...
Now, there have been two Jurassic World films at this point, both have been solid, entertaining blockbuster films but something was missing. I didn't know what it was until now. The reunion of Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler AND Ian Malcolm. I know it's early and production hasn't even started yet but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't EXTREMELY excited to see where the story goes in the next chapter. Look out for Jurassic World 3 (working title, I'm sure) to hit theaters sometime in 2021. - @Traceahamilton
