Are these...tears streaming down my face?! I'll tell you what, especially in today's day and age where the attention span is about 30 seconds, it is very hard to make someone sit still and watch a video for almost four minutes but damn if I didn't do just that. Carly performed at our Big Country Christmas show last week and I'm 100% serious when I say her live version of this song was even BETTER than the record. I'm mean pitch-freaking-perfect.
She's been pouring her heart and soul into this new album and I am so excited to hear it (Valentine's Day 2020. Pre-order now). We know 'Closer To You' will be on there, it's a smash, 'I Hope You're Happy Now' is rising on the charts as we speak, and now this song?! The bar has been set very high but I have zero doubt the rest of the album will be just as good, if not better! 2020 is going to be off to a killer start for CP. Maybe someone you know is going through some stuff at the moment, whether they're fans of country music or not, send them this song and let the music do the healing. They'll thank you, later.
Also, maybe it's just me, but my initial interpretation of this song is everything hurts and times are tough but one day they will get better. I didn't even think about the flip side of cherishing the good times because they won't last. That switch really just messed me up...Carly talks about it below... - @Traceahamilton
