The shooting took place Wednesday morning on a CTA westbound Blue Line train at the UIC-Halsted stop. The victim is in the hospital after being shot in the back. It was 10:45 a.m., towards the end of the morning rush hour commute: there were people everywhere, and security cameras rolling, making it a brazen and shocking attack.
Crime on the CTA has skyrocketed in recent years. Check out these numbers:
