Cars Not Used During the Pandemic Could Become Home to Animals

For millions of Americans, their daily commutes to work stopped back in March, and while many states are beginning to reopen, a lot of people are still working from home. Often, that means your car might sit idle, unused in the driveway or on the street for days or weeks.

And without people there to stop them, it turns that all kinds of critters are turning vehicles into their homes.! Wildlife experts say parked cars make perfect homes for small animals, and their favorite place to hide is under the hood. One squirrel recently took up residence inside the air filter of Zak Mertz's sedan. Mertz just happens to be a wildlife expert and executive director of the Cape Wildlife Center.
