Garth Brooks spotted Kate and her sign in the crowd of his Champaign show. Kate's bright green sign read "Gonna be late to prom, GARTH comes FIRST.”
It was revealed Kate did not have a prom date, and Garth suggested she attend the dance anyway and then return to his show. Kate ended up on stage in her prom dress and Chuck Taylor shoes to assist Garth with shooting the confetti cannons!
"If you go to the prom tonight and it sucks, we’ve got a show here later. If you want to come back and shoot the [confetti] cannons and do stuff like that, you come hang with us, okay? All right, I love you.”
The two met backstage for a photo opp, with a traditional “prom pose” to celebrate the moment.
