#WhatsAwesome is Operation Help A Hero helping donate household items and necessities like cleaning products and toiletries to struggling veterans.
According to the organization's website, "There are hundreds of homeless Veterans in Chicago. The City of Chicago is working hard to create a system where any episode of homelessness is rare and brief through the End Veterans Homelessness Initiative (EVHI). As we house these veterans, the transition from shelter or transitional housing to permanent housing, means many veterans do not have basic items to set up a home. Aldermen are joining together in the month of June to help homeless Veterans in Chicago by creating move-in kits. Please help by donating new household items."
Goods can be dropped off at park district locations or at any Alderman's offices.
