Illinois lawmakers just ended the nation's longest fiscal stalemate since at least the Great Depression after voting to override Gov. Bruce Rauner's vetoes of a budget package.

Illinois lawmakers worked to round up votes needed to pass $5 billion in tax hikes.

The current proposal permanently increases the personal income tax rate to 4.95 percent from the current 3.75 percent rate.

The corporate income tax rate rises to 7 percent from the current 5.25 percent rate.
