Michael Ray opens up about his anxiety

Michael Ray gave Mason, Remy and Alabama a call to open up about his struggle with anxiety.

"I dealt with it my whole life, but I didn't really know what it was. In the last 4 or 5 months stuff was kind of... just, I was going through a lot of stuff personally, a lot of stuff, changes professionally, and just a lot of things at one time."

"My family is very close, but when you're a guy, especially a guy from the south, I feel like  you really don't talk too much about things you just kinda... hold it all in you know. And I thought that's what you did. And so about 6 or 7 months ago it really hit me hard and I was just, I couldn't sleep, just my mind was racing all the time and I was really good at putting on the front, but then I'd wake up immediately and just feel like this pressure in my chest and constantly my mind just couldn't shut off, and so I was like this isn't, this isn't how you live... I have to be going through something."

"So I went and immediately started talking to a counselor here in Nashville about it and I realized exactly what anxiety and, and how it can form into a form of depression. Once I started talking to him and I started realizing everything... and kind of just.... realizing how to fix it and how to go about it. When I made that post in my Snapchat it was because I felt like I was finally getting a little bit of a grasp on it, and I wanted to be able to, when I made the post, to talk about it because I didn't know what I was going through."

"If I don't know what I was  going through I'm sure there's something else out that there maybe don't know it either. And maybe if I go 'Hey I'm going through these symptoms' and somebody can go 'I'm going through the same thing' and they can get some help."
