Jason Aldean make a surprise performance of "I Won't Back Down" on Saturday Night Live following the deadly mass shooting at the Route 91 harvest Festival in Las Vegas the previous Sunday. Aldean was onstage October 1 when the gunfire began, a few songs into his festival-closing set. Tom Petty passed away October 2.
