Volunteers participate in Waukegan Polar Plunge

#WhatsAwesome are the volunteers in Waukegan who participated in the Polar Plunge! Because of freezing temps, the Chicago Polar Plunge on North Avenue Beach was postponed."The weather threw us a curveball this year but all of our wonderful volunteers showed up ready plunge. Due to the frigid weather, our volunteers decided it was safest to remain land bound. We couldn't be more grateful for their efforts and your donations! Happy New Year and we look forward to 2018," the post read.Proceeds benefit the American Greyhound Inc., which raises money to rehome retired racing greyhounds. But the 19th Annual Waukegan Polar Bear Plunge hosted by the Waukegan Park District and the city of Waukegan, went on as planned.
