#WhatsAwesome is a community in Illinois coming together to help raise money and send a homeless vet to stay with his friend in New York. Michelle Noyes and her husband saw Marine veteran William Bozman huddled in a sleeping bag to avoid the record-breaking cold.They stopped the car to help and posted the story to a community Facebook page, which resulted in residents bringing him donations throughout the day including food, water, blankets, warm clothes and even enough money to buy him a bus ticket to New York, where he had a friend he could stay with.
