Anthony Rizzo fights back tears during vigil

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is a 2007 graduate Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in  Florida, where a mass shooting left at least 17 dead. He spoke at a vigil held at the school on Wednesday night.

In 2007, Rizzo was a  sixth-round draft choice out of Marjory  Stoneman Douglas by the Boston  Red Sox.

Rizzo also recently donated $150,000 to help the high school  improve their baseball and softball fields.

The 19-year-old shooter was a former student who had been expelled. He was armed with “countless” magazines and an AR-15 rifle.
