Chicagoans Rally Together to Help Injured Neighbor

Henry Owens of Carpentersville was parasailing during a family trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, when his legs got caught in a boat propeller. Tragically, Owens lost both of his legs in the accident.

Right now, he's being treated at Lutheran General in Park Ridge. While he's focused on healing, his community has rallied around him and his family. The Owens' home will need extensive renovations to now accommodate a wheelchair, and his neighbors are hard at work doing just that! This week, they installed a ramp to the home's front door, and there's a GoFundMe page for donations to help them with expenses associated with the double amputation.
