Mother Charged With Neglect After Baby Rescued From Hot Car in Florida

"I always hear these stories and I wonder how that can happen..."

Those are the words of a woman in Florida who accidentally left her baby boy in the backseat of her car.

Last Tuesday, Jessica Kaiser and her husband were walking through the parking lot of a mall outside Orlando when she walked past a black Nissan Rogue. She thought she saw a doll in the backseat, and it made her do a double-take. Thank God she did, because it was actually a baby boy, strapped in his car seat, in the 93-degree heat with the windows rolled up!

She opened the door, which was unlocked, while her husband called 911. The baby's mother arrived on the scene, shocked and terrified 24 minutes later. Police have charged her with child neglect.
