Chicago Brides Say This Bridal Shop Nearly Ruined Their Weddings

Local brides are warning others about their nightmare experiences at a local bridal shop.

Jessica Bradtke spoke to ABC 7 about buying the wedding dress of her dreams from House of Brides in Orland Park. The dress cost $1,100, and never arrived. After months and months of waiting, Jessica was forced to buy another dress from a different shop. The dress from House of Brides finally arrived, the day before Jessica's wedding. It was too late for alterations to begin, and Jessica had to wear the backup dress down the aisle.

Amber Faltynek had a similar experience; all the dresses for her bridal party arrived at the shop the day before the wedding. "It's completely stressful. I've been emotionally distressed. I haven't really eaten anything. There's been a lot of tears, a lot of frustration," said Amber to ABC 7.

The Better Business Bureau has recently received seven complaints about House of Brides, in which brides dealt with extreme delays.

House of Brides website says "special orders normally take 10 to 16 weeks for delivery," or up to four months. But the brides interviewed by ABC 7 placed their orders at least six months prior to their weddings.
