Carjacking Victim Escapes by Jumping onto Dan Ryan Expressway

It was a terrifying Friday morning for a Brighton Park man after he was carjacked, kidnapped, and managed to escape.

The 32-year-old man pulled into his garage late Thursday night in the Brighton park neighborhood. Two armed men walked in after him and tried to rob him at gunpoint. When he told them he had no money on him, they kidnapped the man in his own Acura and told him to direct them to other people they could rob.

All three eventually drove onto the Dan Ryan Expressway, where police sat the man eventually made a break for it, jumping out of the Acura's passenger seat. The victim managed to escape unharmed and uninjured, then managed to flag down a state trooper near Pershing around 1:15 a.m.

There has been no sign of the Acura and no sign of the two armed men.
