The Bodies of Two Children Were Pulled from Kankakee River on Tuesday Night

Heartbreaking news out of Lake Village, Indiana yesterday as authorities pulled the bodies of two children from the Kankakee River at the LaSalle Fish and Wildlife area near the Illinois-Indiana border.

One of the children was a 4-year-old boy, Levi Patillo from DeMotte. Information on the other child has not been released. The children were found around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. 

The Lake County Sheriff's Department said a 34-year-old man, Eric Patillo, is being held on two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Police have not confirmed his relationship to either child.
