Neighbor Calls Cops on Chicago Mom For Letting Daughter Walk the Dog

A Chicago mother is under fire for allowing her 8-year-old daughter to walk the family dog by herself around the block.

A resident saw fourth grader Dorothy Widen walking her Maltese around the block in their Chicago neighborhood and called police, who showed up at the family's front door, mom Corey Widen said.

"It was terrifying for all of us," Widen told Inside Edition. "It startled her right away, so she burst into tears and ran away." The little girl said the incident made her feel "sad, a little bit scared."
