Lyons Parents Outraged at Teacher Facing Attempted Murder Charges

Parents in Lyons are outraged this week after it was revealed that a man currently facing an attempted murder charge was hired as a teacher.

Andres Rodriguez, 40, is currently free on bond. Rodriguez has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges stemming from a road rage incident last year. He was hired in August to teach at George Washington Middle School after reportedly passing a background check.

When news got out to the community about the attempted murder charges against the teacher, he was suspended with pay. He has since been fired, and residents are calling for the two superintendents to resign.
