6 Rescued After Hours Trapped In Elevator At Former Hancock Building

Six people, including a pregnant woman, became trapped on an elevator early Friday morning after dining at the Signature Room in the building formerly known as the John Hancock Center.

One of the hoist ropes, which carries the weight of the elevator, in elevator car #2 failed. After three hours trapped, firefighters managed to cut a 5x5 hole in the wall of a parking garage to rescue everyone.
