Waukegan Officer's Life-Saving Rescue Makes National News

People all around the country are talking about a local hero!

Waukegan Police Officer Christopher Harris is being hailed as a hero after he stopped a teenage girl just moments before she ran in front of an oncoming train in an attempt to end her own life.

Officer Harris says his department received a call from the girl's sister, warning that she may try to harm herself. The authorities tracked the teen's cellphone to the area near a train crossing. Officer Harris saw the girl and twice told her to stop. She didn't. "That's when I just sprint after her and tackle her."

The incredible moment was captured on video.
