Minnesota Couple Adopts Five Children with Special Needs

Leah Spring thinks of herself as an average mother. But I'm here to say NOPE, there's nothing normal here... It's all extraordinary! Leah is truly an angel here on Earth, making the world a better place in so many ways. Leah is a former Army specialist, a breast cancer survivor, and the mother to five adopted special needs children.

Between 2010 and 2015, Leah adopted five children with Down syndrome after taking a trip to Eastern Europe with a friend who was also adopting. She was inspired by her own biological daughter, who also has Down syndrome. Leah witnessed horrific living conditions for the special needs children in Eastern Europe and was inspired to adopt from there.

Together with her partner Dean, the pair have a total of 12 children.
