Chicago Man Freed After 20 Years for Double Murder He Didn't Commit

After spending 20 years behind bars for a double murder he did not commit, tonight Matt Sopron is a free man once again.

You've probably noticed a huge billboard over the years on the side of the Stevenson Expressway that read "READ MATT SOPRON." The story behind that billboard has finally come to an end... Or is it really a a fresh beginning for Matt Sopron?

Witnesses had once claimed that Sopron ordered a hit on a van that killed two teenage girls in 1995. All of those witnesses were lying, and this week they all recanted their testimonies. Sopron will sleep at home for the first time in 20 years tonight, and next week he will spend Christmas surrounded by his family and his friends.
