I know the holidays can be stressful for people, but this is crazy! Did you know Christmastime is the number one time of the year for heart attacks. Specifically, heart attack incidents peak for the year at 10:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. That's definitely not how anyone would chose to spend their Christmas Eve!
So what can you do to avoid a holiday heart attack?
- Take it easy! Keep stress as low as possible. Whether that means cutting back on your spending, or spending less time with people who stress you out, it's important to be aware of your stress triggers.
- Engage in low-stress exercises like walking and meditating.
- Watch your alcohol and junk food consumption.
- Pay attention to your body and it's needs. Does it need more water? More sleep?
