Boy With Terminal Disease Fulfills Dream to be Police Chief for a Day

Ben Anderson is an extraordinary kid, who recently saw his biggest dream fulfilled! Ben had the opportunity to join the Reno Police Department and act as their Police Chief for a day!

The 9-year-old was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, just 10 months ago. ALD is a terminal disease that affects 1 in 18, 000 people, with a higher prevalence among males than females. ALD is a brain disorder that destroys the nerve cells that allow us to think and to control our muscles.

Ben is in the fight for his life, and his recent experience with the Reno Police is one that surely gave his spirits a boost!
