Man Rescued from Lake Michigan After Falling Through the Ice

A man was chasing his dog over the ice on Lake Michigan when he fell in, and needed to be rescued over the weekend.

The 32-year-old man fell through a patch of ice near Foster Beach on the North Side on Sunday afternoon after his dog ran over the ice and fell into the lake. Fortunately, there were witnesses nearby who immediately called 911.

First responders and Chicago Police were able to drag the man and the dog out of the water by locking their arms together and forming a “human chain."

Both the man and his pup are recovering and in good condition.
