I heard tons of loud noises on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. I thought it was just something wrong with my house... But it turns out, I wasn't the only one hearing them!
Cryoseisms , also known as Ice Quakes , have been heard all around Chicagoland!
Basically when extremely cold air comes in and reaches water that's still liquid underground, it turns that liquid into solid ice at a rapid speed. The ice expands the ground, and it makes a loud booming sound!
Did you hear any Ice Quakes?
