How much are you planning to spend on Valentine’s Day this year? According to LendingTree, the online loan marketplace, people in committed relationships plan to spend more than their significant others expect them to on Valentine’s Day. Additionally, men plan to spend almost two-and-a-half times what their significant others expect from them—and that would be $95, which is more than double what women expect to spend ($41), on average. This is based on a recent LendingTree survey .
Actual spending breaks out differently depending on the stage of your relationship, says LendingTree. Consider these findings:
• Those who are engaged plan to spend the most, averaging at $92.
• People in the dating stage plan to spend $88.
• Married people plan on spending $57.
