Dashboard cameras, 911 calls, and police body cams piece together the horrific scene during and after a 131 car pile-up on a Wisconsin highway.
Whiteout conditions caused the massive accident on Sunday. It was the largest pileup in the state’s history and 911 operators received more than 700 calls from the town of Neenah between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam video of a deputy responding to the deadly crash. A firefighter can be seen climbing over a car in the apocalyptic scene.
Tragically, Andrew Schefelker, 30, a middle and high school science teacher, was killed in the crash.
