Record High Winds Speed Up Flight Times

Airlines are reporting historically fast air travel because of high winds!

Flights going west to east have been arriving way ahead of schedule, thanks to record-breaking tailwinds working in their favor. Planes normally fly around 560 mph, but one Virgin Atlantic jet clocked in at 800 mph. How crazy is that?!

However, as you can probably guess, the opposite is happening for flights traveling east to west. Planes heading west are experiencing delays from the winds.
