Olympic Hopeful Survives Brutal Dog Attack Thanks to Good Samaritan

An Olympic hopeful survived a dog attack, thanks to a Good Samaritan who intervened. “I'm bleeding everywhere,” Caitlin Keen said in a frantic 911 call. “I was running and a pit bull off its leash jumped right on me and it bit me!”

The long-distance runner had just qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials. She was training on a path in Fort Worth, Texas, when she says the dog lunged at her, sinking its teeth into her arms and back.

Tyler Caviness happened to be walking his own dogs nearby, when he saw what was happening. He didn't hesitate to step in and help Caitlin fight off the dog.
