Tessa Puma was a happy, fun-loving little girl until at 6-years-old she became very sick. Her family thought she had the flu, but she quickly fell extremely ill. "It turned out strep got into her bloodstream causing a flesh-eating bacteria," her parents explained.

But Tessa turned tragedy into triumph shortly after recovering when within just a week of getting her first prosthetic, she learned how to walk. The following week, she was back in the dance studio!
