There's a new baby on the way at Lincoln Park Zoo!
Kapuki is an Eastern Black Rhinoceros, and she's about 13 months into her pregnancy. A rhino pregnancy typically lasts 15-16 months. The species is critically endangered, so this pregnancy and vital to the survival of the species.
Kapuki, who is just 13-years-old, is expected to give birth to her new calf in May. And get this-- the baby is expected to weigh around 85 pounds at birth. OUCH!
