Altercation at Polling Place Ended in Violence

Election Day in Chicago was not without major drama. An altercation at a polling spot for the sixth ward ended in violence. Poll-watchers complained that they were being intimidated to leave the polling location, and were even offered cash to leave by someone allegedly tied to incumbent Alderman Roderick Sawyer's campaign.

Malcom Bonner, the campaign manger for challenger Deborah Foster Bonner, who is also Bonner's son, went to the polling place near Hamilton Park to investigate the situation. He began videotaping a man who was reportedly intimidating voters. The man then punched Bonner in the mouth! The altercation was captured on video.
