Timmothy Pitzen Claim Turned Out To Be a Big, Fat Lie

Folks all around the country, but specifically here in Illinois, were holding their breath when it was announced that a 14-year-old went to authorities claiming to be missing Aurora resident Timmothy Pitzen. Pitzen was just six-years-old when he went missing. He was last seen in a water park hotel in Wisconsin Dells. Two days after his disappearance, his mother died by suicide in a hotel in Rockford. She left a note saying her son was safe but that no one would find him.

Tragically, it turned out to be a big fat lie. The hoax was concocted by 23-year-old Brian Rini. Police say Rini was recently released from prison.

I can't imagine how heartbreaking this week has been for the Pitzen family. I've got a few choice words for the guy who put them through hell this week. But to their credit, the family has urged the public to "reserve all judgement and pray" for the man who falsely claimed he was the child.
