Police Dept. Helps 20-Year-Old Who Cares for Her Five Siblings

The Rodriguez siblings have been through far too much. The six siblings recently lost both of their parents to cancer. Now the eldest child, Samantha, has taken on the task of parenting her five younger siblings. At just 20-years-old, the responsibility requires a great deal of courage and strength.

When their local police department learned of the situation, they wanted to do whatever they could to help the family. The Orange County Sheriff's Office threw the Rodriguez children a Christmas they'll never forget. When the department posted about the Rodriguez family on social media, the community was touched. Anonymous donations came pouring in, and people chipped in to buy the family a new car.

"Doing everything on my own is very hard but I'm so glad to have people like you guys in my life," Samantha said.
