Chicagoland Dream House Turns Out to be House of Horrors

Cathy Arrington was beyond thrilled when she found what she thought was the perfect house. The real estate listing for the Schaumburg home said, “so well-maintained that you can move right in, and not lift a finger.”

Sadly, that was hardly the case, as she found out just weeks after closing. Arrington's "perfect" suburban home was full of mold, asbestos, and thousands of dollars worth of issues.

After a few weeks in her new home, she says dirt and dust began coming up. Experts found mold in the pipes, and basically all throughout the home. Now she's sharing her story with the hope it could help even just one family from facing the same nightmare she's struggling with.
