Teen Uses Make-A-Wish Gift to Help Others

For Matthew Gould, 16, it was a wish come true: the chance to help his doctor find a cure for cancer. Three years ago, Matthew and his family were shocked when he was diagnosed with stage 4 T-cell leukemia. He underwent grueling chemotherapy treatments that left him temporarily paralyzed. He had to learn how to walk all over again. His mother emotionally described what it was like to watch her son go through this horrible disease.

As part of World Wish Day, Matthew was asked what his wish would be as he continues undergo treatment...

He chose to donate $5,000 to his doctor, Dr. Ryan Summers, to help fund his cancer research! His mom was amazed by his selflessness, and I am too! What an incredible kid!
