Brain Cancer Scare Turns Out to be Tape Worm

Can you imagine a situation where a tapeworm in your brain is actually good news?

That's exactly what happened to Rachel Palma. The 42-year-old knew something was gravely wrong when her health took a terrifying turn for the worst in January 2018. She began forgetting words, and having hallucinations. At first, brain scans seemed to show a mass on her brain. Doctors diagnosed her with a brain tumor, and Palma underwent a dangerous surgery to remove the mass.

But once doctors got inside, they were shocked to see what looked like an egg sack. Upon further inspection, her surgeons discovered a tapeworm living inside Palma's brain!

The New York native is now recovering, and was grateful to not have cancer!
