What was supposed to be a dream vacation turned into an unthinkable tragedy. And no one quite knows why... Yet.
Texas couple David and Michelle Paul planned the trip of a lifetime together to Fiji. The married couple dropped their young son off with Michelle's parents, then left for paradise. However, towards the end of their Fiji vacation they both fell ill with flu-like symptoms. Michelle died three days later. Her husband later lost his life as preparations were being made to medevac him to Australia. David was an Air Force veteran and Michelle was a former college athlete. One theory is that David and Michelle died from a severe strain of flu that has been sweeping the South Pacific.
The couple's 2-year-old son will now be cared for by Michelle's parents.
