Six teenagers and one adult were hospitalized after a prom night crash in Ashburn early Saturday morning.
Witnesses say the car was engulfed in flames when strangers sprang into action to begin rescuing those trapped inside.
Chicago police said a 2019 Nissan Rogue was headed eastbound on 79th Street when it struck a 2003 GMC Yukon that was crossing the intersection northbound on Homan Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the 3400 block of West 79th Street.
According to family of the crash victims, some of the teenagers had attended Bogan High School’s prom earlier that evening. Some of them remained hospitalized at this time.
