Alliance of Local Service Organization has partnered with the Metropolitan Peace Academy. These two organizations are working to help those in the community fight crime and avoid violence through street outreach.
"Street outreach" means these people are working out on the streets, trying to help improve dangerous and violent neighborhoods around Chicago. They focus on watching neighborhoods for red flags, diffusing situations, and even promoting self-care and helping people take better care of themselves. These outreach workers go above and beyond by connecting with individuals at risk of becoming victims, or those who could potentially become perpetrators.
Here's hoping these groups can bring some peace to our city this summer!
