Nine Americans in the past nine months have died while vacationing in the Dominican Republic. All of them were otherwise healthy, but became extremely ill very suddenly.
What was supposed to be a fun senior class trip to Dominican Republic turned into a nightmare for a group of Oklahoma high school graduates and their chaperones. Seven people on the trip say they got violently ill on the second day of the vacation after eating at a Japanese restaurant and had to be rushed to a hospital. The senior class trip consisted of 70 students and parents from Deer Creek High School in Oklahoma. They were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
