With summer officially underway, and warmer temperatures on the horizon, Chicagoans are ready to head outside and hit up our favorite summer hot spots. One favorite is the stunning Riverwalk. But residents have noticed that despite Mayor Rahm Emanuel announcing the Riverwalk's "completion" on May 17 before leaving office, many portions of the Riverwalk are still under construction. Some sections and restaurants are completely closed!
So will the Riverwalk actually open in time for summer 2019?
When pressed for answers, representatives from the city said the poor weather in May delayed construction. They say crews are working to complete the Riverwalk as quickly as weather will allow.
In the meantime, some favorites are still open for business and as busy as ever, despite our less-than-stellar weather!
