Hit-and-Run in River North Leaves Divvy Bike Rider in Critical Condition

A man was critically injured when a hit-and-run driver struck him while he was riding a Divvy bike early Tuesday morning in the River North neighborhood.

The accident happened near Grand and Kingsbury. Police say they received a call around 1:00 in the morning. the victim and his wife were riding Divvy bikes when a car struck the victim from behind before continuing west-bound on Grand avenue. The couple can be seen on their bikes on surveillance video from a nearby condo. While the crash wasn't captured on video, there are some blurry images of the car. It appears to be a dark-colored sedan.

The victim is being treated at Northwestern Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
