A tragic accident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a red line train hit and killed a pedestrian at the 69th Street platform. According to witnesses, the woman accidentally dropped her cell phone on the tracks. She jumped down to retrieve the phone, but was hit by an oncoming train. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The woman's name has not yet been released, however police did release her age. She was just 30 years old.
If you ever drop something on the tracks please, please, please, just let it go. There's no material item.. no cell phone, no purse, no camera, that could ever be worth losing your life over!
