Michael Albrecht was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of cancer, when he was a freshman in high school. He battled the disease, but unfortunately it returned during his senior year. However, his disease hasn't stopped the teen from working hard and helping others. Albrecht has spent much of his senior year undergoing treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital, so when it came time for the U.S. presidential scholar to graduate, Albrecht still got to celebrate: the hospital set up a livestream of the ceremony and his older sister walked across the stage for him. "I'm not leaving my life behind just because I'm in the hospital," he said.
