17-Year-Old Severe Burn Victim Gets a New Chance at Life

Teeba Marlowe, 17, was born in Iraq. Teeba was given a new chance at life thanks to a woman here in the U.S. with a huge heart!

When Teeba was a little girl, she suffered second- and third-degree burns on her head and face. Barbara Marlowe of Cleveland, Ohio, saw a photo of Teeba in the newspaper. Since Marlowe couldn’t have children of her own, she wanted to adopt Teeba to give her a better life.

Marlowe secured a visa and surgeons to make it happen. “It was a giant leap of faith,” she said.
